In 2019 GNYSAA National tournament team participated in USA Baseball's 16U Cup and HBQVB 16U Labor Day Tournament with great success. We are continuing to workout players throughout the Fall. Read below about their trip this summer to USA Baseball's complex. 

In 2020 we expect to field 14U and 16U GNYSAA National Tournament teams.

GNYSAA 16U NATIONAL TOURNAMENT 2019 TEAM  


GNYSAA participated in USA Baseball's 16U Cup in July 2019. 16U team.  They went 2-2 at USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary N.C. against the top teams selected for this tournament. We are very proud the way team played together and their tremendous effort. Thanks to all who participated.

Some Highlights from Day One of 2019 16U Cup Packed with Action

GNYSAA 3, TPA Nationals 2

GNYSAA held on to a one run lead to beat TPA Nationals 3-2 and secure their first win at the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup on Friday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

GNYSAA scored two in the top of the first inning to jump out to a commanding 2-0 lead, and that's all that GNYSAA starting pitcher Conner Dusterberg would need. Dusterberg cruised against TPA Nationals, tossing six innings and allowing two runs (zero earned) while striking out three. Dusterberg (1-0) earned the win while Stephen Holland (0-1) earned the loss.

GNYSAA moved to 1-0 with the win and are set to take on Blue Chips later on Friday at 12:00 pm ET. TPA Nationals will take on East Coast Clippers at at noon.

GNYSAA Defeat Blue Chips After Walk-Off on Day One of 16U Cup

GNYSAA Improves to 2-0 in the tournament

CARY, N.C. - In a back-and-fourth affair, GNYSAA was able to edge out a win in walk-off fashion, defeating Blue Chips 4-3 on Friday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. 

Blue Chips' Michael Segreti got his team on the board first with an RBI-double in the top of the second. GNYSAA responded in the bottom of the second after Liam Gavigan took advantage of a wild pitch and reached home to tie the game. After two scoreless innings in the top of the fifth, Blue Chips regained the lead following an RBI-double from Scooter Summa, allowing Johnathan Kline to reach home. 

GNYSAA answered quickly in the bottom of the fifth with two runs of their own after Marc Pardo lined an RBI-double to center field, bringing home Robert De Larosa and Jeremy Diaz and putting GNYSAA up a run. In the following inning, Blue Chips' Ben Schleiff stole second and eventually reached home thanks to an RBI-single from Michael Gibson-Robinson to tie the game at three runs apiece. In the bottom of the seventh and with the bases loaded, Christopher Martinez took advantage of a wild pitch and scored the game-winning run for GNYSAA.

GNYSAA's offense was led by Gavigan who went 2-for-3 and Pardo who went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Martinez recorded six strikeouts on five innings pitched for GNYSAA.

Ethan Garcia earned the win for GNYSAA. Logan Palmer suffered the loss for Blue Chips.

GNYSAA improved to 2-0, while Blue Chips fell to 0-2.
